AssemblyAI Setup for Audio Transcripts (Legacy Lifetime Accounts)
If you have a Legacy Lifetime Marketing Magic account, you can connect an AssemblyAI API key to automatically transcribe audio files directly inside Marketing Magic.
This allows you to upload audio recordings — such as webinars, workshops, or training calls — and have them converted into transcripts automatically, without needing a separate transcription tool.
This guide walks through how to connect your AssemblyAI key and upload audio files for transcription.

Who This Feature Is For
This feature is available for Legacy Lifetime account holders.
If you have access to it, you’ll be able to connect your AssemblyAI API key and upload audio files directly into the Transcripts tool.
If you’re unsure whether your account includes this feature, check your account settings or contact support.
Getting Your AssemblyAI API Key
Before you can upload audio files for transcription, you’ll need your AssemblyAI API key.
You can obtain this by creating an account with AssemblyAI and generating an API key in your account dashboard.
Once you have your key, you’re ready to connect it inside Marketing Magic.
Adding Your API Key
To connect AssemblyAI:
Go to the Transcripts section inside Marketing Magic
Locate the AssemblyAI API key field
Paste in your API key
Click Save
If you previously used an earlier version of Marketing Magic, your API key may already be saved. You can edit or update it at any time.
Once saved, Marketing Magic will be able to send audio files to AssemblyAI for transcription.
Uploading an Audio File
After connecting your API key, you can upload audio recordings for transcription.
To do this:
Open the Transcripts tab
Click New Transcript
Select Upload Audio File
Choose the audio file from your computer
Once the upload begins, you’ll see a progress message indicating that the file is being uploaded. Avoid closing the window while this process completes.
Selecting the Transcript Type
After uploading your file, you’ll also select the type of transcript the audio represents.
For example:
Course or training
Workshop or masterclass
Webinar recording
This helps keep your transcript library organised.
Generating the Transcript
Once the file finishes uploading, a button to add your transcript will appear.
Click Add Transcript, and Marketing Magic will send the audio file to AssemblyAI using your API key.
AssemblyAI will then process the audio and generate a transcript automatically.
The processing time depends on the length of the recording, but it is usually quite fast — even for longer recordings.
Troubleshooting Errors
If the API key is incorrect or missing, you may see an error when attempting to upload or generate the transcript.
In that case:
Double-check that your API key is correct
Ensure the key has been saved properly
Try uploading the file again
If you continue to experience issues, contact support and we’ll help you get everything working.
Using Your Transcripts
Once your transcript has been generated, it will appear in the Transcripts library where you can:
View and edit the transcript
Generate summaries and key insights
Extract quotes and marketing ideas
Use the transcript for content repurposing
You can also attach transcripts to products, which helps Marketing Magic generate more accurate marketing assets related to that product.
