Transcript Upload, Editor & Tasks

Back to the Knowledge Base

If you regularly run workshops, webinars, live calls, or training sessions, the Transcripts tool inside Marketing Magic can save you a huge amount of time.

Instead of letting that content sit unused, you can upload the transcript and quickly turn it into summaries, content ideas, marketing assets, and more.

This guide walks you through how to upload transcripts, use the transcript editor, and generate repurposed content from your recordings.

Where to Find the Transcripts Tool

To get started, open the Transcripts tab from the left-hand menu (the microphone icon).

From here, you’ll see any transcripts you’ve already uploaded. To add a new one, click New Transcript.

Uploading a Transcript

Marketing Magic currently works with existing transcripts, which means you’ll paste in text from tools that already generate them.

Most platforms now provide automatic transcripts, including:

  • Zoom

  • Loom

  • Webinar platforms

  • Video hosting tools

  • Meeting recording tools

Once you’ve copied your transcript text, follow these steps:

  1. Click New Transcript

  2. Add a title for the transcript

  3. Select the type of transcript (for example: course, workshop, or masterclass)

  4. Paste the transcript text into the editor

  5. Click Add My Transcript

After uploading, Marketing Magic will process the transcript and add it to your transcript library.

Accessing the Transcript Editor

Once your transcript has been uploaded, click View to open the Transcript Editor.

This page gives you several useful features:

  • A transcript summary and overview

  • The full transcript text

  • Tools for extracting insights and repurposing content

If the summary doesn’t look right for any reason, you can simply click Regenerate Summary to create a new one.

Transcript Overview

The overview section automatically pulls together useful information from your transcript, including:

  • A high-level summary of the content

  • Key takeaways

  • Topic outlines with timestamps

  • Key quotes and soundbites

  • Resource links mentioned in the recording

You can also click Copy Summary to copy the entire overview into your clipboard and paste it into a document or notes tool.

This is especially helpful if you want to quickly create:

  • lesson summaries

  • webinar recap emails

  • blog post outlines

Transcript Tasks & Repurposing Tools

The Transcript Tasks & Assets tab is where you can run specific tools to extract useful content from your transcript.

For example, you can run the Summarise and Rewrite Transcript tool to generate several helpful outputs.

These may include:

Summaries

You’ll receive multiple summary formats, such as:

  • A one-sentence summary

  • Conceptual bullet points

  • Detailed bullet-point summaries

These are ideal for creating quick reference materials or repurposing content.

Topic Extraction

Marketing Magic can pull out the main topics discussed in the transcript, which helps identify themes you can expand on in future content.

Key Quotes and Soundbites

The system will highlight memorable quotes and key excerpts from your transcript.

These are perfect for:

  • social media posts

  • graphics

  • email snippets

  • promotional copy

Keywords and Recurring Themes

You’ll also see:

  • Key phrases

  • Recurring topics

  • Frequently mentioned themes

This information can help you identify content ideas or SEO opportunities based on what you’ve already discussed.

Like other areas of Marketing Magic, you can click Copy All to copy the results and paste them into your own documents or content planning tools.

Using Transcripts for Marketing Content

One of the most powerful uses of this feature is content repurposing.

For example, if you upload a webinar transcript, you can quickly turn it into:

  • Blog posts

  • Email newsletters

  • Sales page content

  • Social media posts

  • Lesson summaries

  • Lead magnet ideas

Instead of starting from scratch, you’re building from content you’ve already created.

Transcript Chat

Just like the Brand and Product sections, transcripts also include their own Chat feature.

This allows you to ask questions about the specific transcript you uploaded.

For example, you could ask the chat to:

  • Turn the transcript into a blog post outline

  • Extract marketing ideas from the training

  • Create social media captions based on the discussion

  • Generate email content from the workshop

Each conversation is saved, so you can come back and continue working with it later.

Optional: Assembly AI Integration (Legacy Lifetime Accounts)

If you have a Legacy Lifetime account, you can connect your Assembly AI API key to generate transcripts automatically.

This option is extremely low-cost compared to most transcription tools and can produce:

  • Automated transcripts

  • Timestamped paragraphs

  • Exportable transcript formats

There is a separate tutorial that explains how to connect Assembly AI if you have access to this feature.

Final Tips

The Transcripts tool is particularly powerful if you regularly create spoken content, such as:

  • workshops

  • podcasts

  • live trainings

  • webinars

  • interviews

  • course recordings

Uploading transcripts allows you to turn a single piece of content into multiple marketing assets without needing to start from scratch each time.
