Product Editor Walkthrough

Back to the Knowledge Base

Once you’ve added a product to Marketing Magic, the next step is getting familiar with the Product Editor.

This is where you’ll refine your product information, explore AI-generated messaging ideas, and create marketing assets tailored to that specific product. In this guide, we’ll walk through what you’ll see inside the editor and how each section can help with your marketing.

Next Steps

Opening the Product Editor

After creating a product, the system will take a minute or two to process the information you added. Once it’s ready, a “View” button will appear.

Clicking View opens the Product Editor, where you’ll see all the details and tools related to that product.

Core Product Details

On the left-hand side of the editor, you’ll see a summary of your product information, including:

  • Product name

  • Product type

  • Price

  • Category or topic area

  • Page URL

You can edit any of this information at any time. Changes made in these fields auto-save, so there’s no need to manually click a save button.

AI-Generated Messaging and Positioning

Below the product summary, you’ll find AI-generated supporting information designed to help you shape your product messaging.

This includes:

  • A product overview

  • Positioning ideas

  • Taglines or value propositions

If you already have messaging for your product, you can simply replace the text with your own. These suggestions are mainly there to help you avoid the “blank page” problem when setting things up for the first time.

Feel free to edit, refine, or completely remove anything here.

Product Type Settings (Courses & Programs)

Some sections in the editor only appear for specific product types.

For example, if your product is a course or program, you’ll see additional options such as:

  • Start date and end date for scheduled programs

  • The option to mark the product as evergreen

  • Fields for adding bonus details

These settings help Marketing Magic tailor marketing ideas and messaging based on how the product is delivered.

Product Growth Tasks

Each product also includes a set of Growth Tasks.

These are suggested marketing actions designed to help you grow that particular product or revenue stream. As you mark tasks as completed, new ones will appear to keep the momentum going.

They’re a useful place to start if you’re unsure what to do next to promote the product.

FAQs and Objection Handling

Further down the page, you’ll find two particularly valuable sections:

FAQs

Marketing Magic drafts a set of frequently asked questions for your product that you can refine and use on sales pages, landing pages, or emails.

Customer Objections

This section identifies potential objections customers may have about the product and breaks them down into:

  • The objection itself

  • The emotional concern behind it

  • The logical concern

  • Suggested messaging to address it

These are incredibly useful when creating marketing campaigns, launch content, or promotional emails because they highlight the questions and hesitations your audience might have.

Social Media Content Ideas

Switching to the Social Posts tab reveals a collection of social media content ideas specifically designed to promote your product.

These ideas are grouped into five content styles:

  • Interactive

  • Inspirational

  • Promotional

  • Entertainment

  • Educational

Inside each category, you’ll find ideas such as:

  • Story sequences (multi-frame story arcs)

  • Carousel post concepts

  • Text or graphic post ideas

  • Short video prompts

  • Long-form caption outlines

  • Conversation starters

You can edit these ideas directly, or simply use them as inspiration for emails, blog posts, or other marketing content.

Visual Content Ideas

Marketing digital products or services can sometimes make it difficult to visualise what you’re selling.

The Visual Ideas tab helps solve this by suggesting ways to present your product visually.

You’ll find ideas for things like:

  • Product mockups

  • Styled photography concepts

  • B-roll footage ideas

  • Graphic elements you could use in promotional content

These suggestions make it easier to create images or videos that bring your product to life.

Product Customer Profile

In the Customers tab, you’ll see an ideal customer profile specifically for this product.

This is slightly different from your overall brand customer profile because it focuses on the people most likely to buy this particular product.

This section includes:

  • Customer motivations

  • Pain points

  • Goals

  • Messaging angles that resonate with them

You’ll also find a Customer Journey Map, which outlines how potential customers might move from discovering your content to purchasing the product.

This is particularly useful if you're creating evergreen marketing systems or long-term content strategies.

Product Testimonials

You can also add testimonials that relate specifically to this product.

These work similarly to brand testimonials but focus on feedback related to the product itself.

Adding these helps strengthen your messaging and provides social proof that can be used across your marketing materials.

Adding Transcripts

If your product includes training, videos, or lessons, you can attach transcripts to the product.

This helps Marketing Magic better understand the content you’re selling and ensures that the messaging it generates aligns with the material inside the product.

You can add these by clicking “Add Transcript to Product.”

(Your transcripts will need to be uploaded first in the Transcripts section.)

Creating Product Assets

Once you’re happy with the information in the Core Details tab, you can click:

Create My Product Assets

Marketing Magic will then generate a comprehensive set of marketing resources for that product.

These may include:

  • Sales and landing page structures

  • Email sequences

  • Social media campaign ideas

  • Video and carousel content prompts

  • Additional marketing strategies such as:

    • Exit-intent popups

    • Pinterest promotion

    • Affiliate marketing ideas

You can edit any of the generated content and copy it directly into documents, marketing tools, or platforms you use.

Product Chat

Each product also includes its own Chat feature.

This lets you generate marketing ideas, campaigns, or content specifically tailored to that product.

For example, you could ask for:

  • Live launch event ideas

  • Email campaign concepts

  • Promotional angles

  • Post-purchase emails

The conversation is saved, so you can return to it and continue brainstorming whenever you want.

You can also access the same chat from the main Chat section in the platform.

Next Steps

Now that you understand how the Product Editor works, the next step is exploring the different product types and how to configure them properly.

Each product type has slightly different settings and marketing opportunities, so we’ve created dedicated walkthrough videos for those as well.
