How to Set Up & Use Lead Magnets
Lead magnets are one of the easiest ways to grow your audience and guide people toward your products. Inside Marketing Magic, you can add your lead magnets and generate the marketing assets needed to promote them — from landing page copy to email sequences and social content.

Adding a New Lead Magnet
To get started, go to the Lead Magnets section in the left-hand menu.
Click New Lead Magnet, and a setup window will appear.
The first thing to check is that the correct brand is selected if you have multiple brands in your account.
Next, choose the type of lead magnet you’re creating.
Examples include:
Checklists
Guides
Webinars or workshops
Templates
Mini courses
Resource lists
For this example, we’ll use a checklist lead magnet.
Naming Your Lead Magnet
Add the title of your lead magnet, such as:
The Ultimate SEO Checklist for Search and AI Visibility in 2026 and Beyond
Then add a short description explaining what the lead magnet helps your audience achieve.
For example, you might describe how the checklist helps people improve their search visibility or optimise their content for conversational AI tools.
You don’t need to write a full sales page here — just a clear explanation of what the resource includes and the outcome it provides.
Connecting the Lead Magnet to a Product
If your lead magnet naturally leads into one of your products or programs, you can link it during setup.
Select the product from the dropdown list.
This helps Marketing Magic create more aligned email sequences and marketing assets, since it knows what the natural next step is after someone downloads the lead magnet.
Special Pricing or Bonuses (Optional)
Some lead magnets — particularly webinars or workshops — may include:
Fast-action bonuses
Special pricing
Limited-time offers
If that applies, you can add notes about those offers during setup.
If there’s no special offer attached, you can simply leave this blank.
Choosing Evergreen or Live
Next, decide whether the lead magnet is:
Evergreen (available anytime), or
Live / date-specific (such as a webinar)
If it’s a live event, you can include the date. Otherwise, most lead magnets will be set as Evergreen.
Once everything is filled in, click Save.
Marketing Magic will process the information in the background and add the lead magnet to your account.
Opening the Lead Magnet Editor
After the setup process finishes, a View and Edit button will appear.
Click this to open the Lead Magnet Editor.
This editor works similarly to the Product and Brand editors and includes everything related to that specific lead magnet.
Editing Lead Magnet Details
Inside the editor, you’ll see a summary section that includes details about:
The target audience
The purpose of the lead magnet
The outcome it provides
You can edit or shorten these sections to make sure they accurately reflect your lead magnet.
If you want to give the system more context, you can also add details such as:
The table of contents for the resource
Key sections or pages included in the lead magnet
Topics covered inside the guide or checklist
Adding this context can help Marketing Magic generate stronger marketing assets later.
Generating Lead Magnet Assets
Once you’re happy with the details, click Create My Lead Magnet Assets.
Marketing Magic will generate a full set of marketing resources to help you promote your lead magnet.
These typically include:
Opt-In Page Copy
This includes suggested sections for your lead magnet landing page, along with messaging designed to highlight the value of the resource.
You’ll also see an introductory bio that positions your expertise in relation to the lead magnet topic.
Thank You Page
After someone signs up for your lead magnet, they’ll be directed to a thank you page.
Marketing Magic generates suggested copy for this page as well.
Lead Magnet Delivery Emails
The system will create an email delivery sequence that:
Delivers the lead magnet
Provides additional helpful context
Guides readers toward your related product or next step
Nurture Emails
If someone downloads the lead magnet but doesn’t purchase your product right away, you’ll also have a nurture sequence designed to keep them engaged.
These emails help build trust while gradually introducing your product or offer.
Social Media Promotion
Marketing Magic also generates social media content ideas that help promote your lead magnet organically.
These may include:
Short video concepts
Carousel posts
Content ideas related to the lead magnet topic
These posts are designed to attract people who are interested in the topic and guide them toward your opt-in page.
Using Chat to Expand Your Lead Magnet Content
Just like the other areas of Marketing Magic, the Chat feature is available inside the lead magnet editor.
You can use chat to expand or refine your lead magnet content.
For example, if you only have a rough idea for the lead magnet, you could ask the chat to create an outline.
You might prompt it with something like:
Create an outline for a checklist about improving SEO visibility.
The chat can generate a structured outline that you can then paste into the lead magnet details to give the system more context before generating assets.
Updating or Regenerating Content
If you want different ideas for any of the generated sections, you can simply click Regenerate.
This will replace the current suggestions with new variations.
You can regenerate as many times as you like until you find something that works.
Why Lead Magnets Matter
Lead magnets are designed to attract top-of-funnel audiences — people who are interested in the topic you talk about but may not yet be ready to buy.
By offering a useful resource, you can:
Grow your email list
Build trust with new subscribers
Introduce people to your products
Create a natural path from free content to paid offers
Marketing Magic helps automate much of the planning and content creation needed to make that process work.
